Why didn't the Portuguese detectives bother to even open the cupboards in the flat?

Gross incompetence! I have friends who live in Praia and Albufeira and Amaral was well known for his incompetence and bullying. He didn't pay for drink in bars or food in restaurants and no-one dare ask him. The truth about that fat slob came out when he was sacked - even his own stupid force couldn't stomach what he and his repulsive side kicks did to that poor Portuguese mother who reported her child missing! The Portuguese Government are just as responsible - they've known for years how many children have disappeared along the Algarve and haven't done anything to stop the paedophiles skulking around there for months on end just to make sure their tourism didn't suffer! Beggars belief!
