Where should i go to Pastry School? US or abroad?

I'm willing to go anywhere (location wise) next year i will be able to fry for free until i'm 22 so it will be the perfect time for me to study abroad. i want to go to pastry school. where do you recommend? I've been thinking about Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. but every time i mention that people tell me how the french hate americans. i realize this is most likely a stereotype, and you can't judge an entire group of people like that...but it still kinda freaks me out. haha
