I am a size 12 in kids jeans and I want to try American Eagle jeans size 00 short. Would those be to big? :/?

I am kinda a small girl .. if you can tell . I am 4'8". I weigh 79 pounds and I'm 1. I'm not anorexic I just have extremly small parents. I have always wanted American Eagle jeans but I've never tried them on and you can only get size 00 short online. Anyone have any advise PLEAZZZZ!
