Where is Hotel California? and what is the meaning behind the lyric?

I am a big fan of Hotel California by the Eagle. for many years, i wonder where is it so i can take my kids there. Also, i really don't understand what the lyric mean? is there a hidden meaning in the lyric that i don't know about?
